These fine bubbles, adhering to solid or liquid particles in wastewater possessing similar density, reduce the overall density of the particles making them buoyant. WORKING PRINCIPLE:
The wastewater is directed into the gas-liquid contact reaction zone of the air flotation machine via the inlet pump. Here, the gas-liquid mixer produces a profusion of microbubbles that attract oil droplets, suspended solids, and various pollutants. These pollutants adhere to the bubbles and rise to the surface in the separation zone, forming scum.
The purified water overflows the weir and exits through the outlet pipe. Meanwhile, the surface scum is efficiently scraped off by the slag scraper and collected into the scum pool.
The scum is then transported by a screw conveyor. Though continuous scraping is possible, intermittent scraping is preferable as it reduces the scum's moisture content, minimizes its volume, and stabilizes the effluent quality by lessening interference with the main water body.
ADVANTAGES:
Advantage 1 of the dissolved air flotation machine: Minimal residence time, no backflow water, and a compact footprint. The hydraulic retention time during flotation is approximately 20-30 minutes.
Advantage 2 of the dissolved air flotation machine: Simplified structure, effortless operation, and straightforward maintenance. The primary control parameter is the speed of the gas-liquid mixer, which can be managed centrally from an indoor console. However, the dissolved air system's operation is more intricate.
Dissolved air flotation machine has three advantages: Low energy consumption and affordable investment. For a sewage treatment capacity of 100m³/h, an air flotation machine typically requires just one gas-liquid mixer with a power rating of about 0.75kW. In contrast, traditional pressure dissolved gas flotation cells rely on multiple components, including return water pumps, air compressors, dissolved gas tanks, and release groups, all of which demand significant investment and consume high levels of energy.
