MECHANISM OF OPERATION:
The wastewater is directed into the gas-liquid contact reaction zone of the air flotation machine via the inlet pump. Within this zone, the gas-liquid mixer produces ample microbubbles that attract oil droplets, suspended solids, and other pollutants. These pollutants adhere to the microbubbles and are carried to the surface in the separation zone, forming scum.
The clarified water then overflows through an overflow weir and exits via the outlet pipe. Simultaneously, the surface scum is scraped off by a slag scraper and directed into the scum pool.
Subsequently, the scum is transported by a screw conveyor. While continuous scraping is possible, intermittent scraping is recommended to lower the scum's moisture content, reduce its volume, minimize water interference, and enhance effluent quality stability.
