WORKING PRINCIPLE:
The sewage is introduced into the gas-liquid contact reaction area of the air flotation machine by the water inlet pump. Within this zone, the gas-liquid mixer produces a myriad of microbubbles, which attract and adhere to oil droplets, suspended solids, and other pollutants. These pollutants are then carried to the water surface in the separation zone, forming a layer of scum.
The purified water overflows through the overflow weir and is discharged from the outlet pipe. The scum that forms on the surface of the air flotation machine is efficiently scraped off by the slag scraper, directing it into the scum pool.
The scum is then transported out by a screw conveyor. While continuous scraping is possible, intermittent scraping is recommended to reduce the scum's moisture content, decrease the volume of scum, minimize interference with the water body, and maintain stable effluent quality.
ADVANTAGES:
Advantage 1 of the dissolved air flotation machine: It boasts a short residence time, no backflow water, and a compact footprint. The hydraulic retention time during the flotation process is approximately 20~30 minutes.
Advantage 2 of the dissolved air flotation machine: It features a simple structure, easy operation, and low maintenance requirements. The primary control parameter is the speed of the gas-liquid mixer, which can be centrally controlled from an indoor console, although the operation of the dissolved air system is more complex.
Dissolved air flotation machine offers three key advantages: It is characterized by low energy consumption and low investment. For a sewage treatment scale of 100m3/h, a single air flotation machine generally suffices with one gas-liquid mixer, having a power requirement of about 0.75kW. In contrast, a conventional pressure dissolved gas flotation cell requires a return water pump, air compressor, dissolved gas tank, dissolved gas release group, and supporting pipelines, all of which entail higher capital and operational costs due to numerous static and dynamic equipment.
