Generally speaking, increasing the dosage of Fe2+ will increase the COD removal rate of wastewater. When Fe2+ increases to a certain level, the COD removal rate begins to decrease. This is because when the Fe2+ concentration is low, as the Fe2+ concentration increases, the OH· produced by H

2 will increase; but when the Fe2+ concentration is too high, it will also cause H
2O
2 to decompose ineffectively and release O
2.
