Sulfur autotrophic denitrification filter material uses inorganic carbon (CO2, HCO3-, CO32-) as a carbon source, and mainly uses inorganic matter (S, S2-, H2, S2O32-, Fe, Fe2+, NH4+, etc.) as an electron donor for nitrate nitrogen reduction to complete microbial metabolism, and reduces NO3-N in nitrate nitrogen-contaminated water lacking organic carbon sources to N2. In the coupled biological electron carrier, the uniform distribution of alkalinity donors can effectively balance the pH of the denitrification process and achieve self-maintenance of biological activity; the introduction of multi-electron donors can effectively promote the metabolic coupling of microorganisms and achieve self-activation of the denitrification reaction process.
